Apple September 2026 Event: iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro Prices in India and Booking Dates

That is the short version. The rest of this recap answers one question: which of these announcements changes the phone you should buy, and what it costs in India.

There are launch nights when the conversation is about a new colour. This one gave us a different question: could the phone in your pocket also be the screen you reach for when you need room to think?

Here is the hardware Apple announced: a 7.6-inch inner display and 5.4-inch outer display, A20 Pro, two 48MP rear cameras, side-button Touch ID and a titanium frame. The inner screen has a nano-texture finish that reduces glare and crease visibility. Apple describes it as 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max display. USB-C Apple Pencil support is coming later this year. Duo is eSIM-only worldwide, and ships with iOS 27.1.

For us, the appeal is easy to picture. You are comparing two holiday stays, checking a spreadsheet against an email, or reading a document that becomes exhausting on a narrow screen. Those are ordinary tasks. A phone earns its place by making ordinary tasks less annoying, long after the launch video has stopped looking new.

Apple’s Split View supports two apps, including two windows from the same app, and saved app pairs. Its camera features include rear-camera selfies and Smart Take, which automatically captures a shot when people are posed.

The buying test is more demanding than the demo. Before paying for a foldable, make a list of the three things you would use its extra space for every week. If you struggle to name them, pause. If your list appears immediately, this is the model worth spending time with when demonstrations become available.

We are excited about the idea, not pretending we have lived with the device. Pocket comfort, app behaviour, screen feel and how often you actually unfold it need hands-on experience. Apple rates Duo for up to 24 hours of mixed-display usage. It has no dedicated telephoto camera, an important tradeoff against the Pro models. Those details make real-world testing worth waiting for.

India prices: the numbers worth planning around

The prices below are Apple India's own listings, read from Apple's India store on 10 September 2026. They are what Apple charges. They are not a BytePe quote: our price, EMI and subscription plans for these models will be confirmed when they are listed, and may differ by storage, colour and offer. Phone prices are for the 256GB variant; Watch and AirPods prices are the starting configuration.

Prices are taken from Apple India's store pages for iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone Duo, Apple Watch, Apple Watch Ultra and AirPods 5.

On those prices, Duo sits ₹1,20,000 above the Pro Max and ₹1,35,000 above the Pro. You should be able to explain what the extra spend does for your day. “It folds” is a perfectly good reason to be curious. It deserves a longer answer before you commit almost ₹3 lakh.

The ₹15,000 gap between Pro and Pro Max is a separate decision. Start with the size you want to carry, then consider battery needs. Storage upgrades, accessories and the final payment plan belong in the same budget. Comparing the cheapest headline price of one model with a higher-storage version of another will only make the decision harder.

Booking dates: three that are easy to confuse

Apple’s phone schedules are in its Pro launch release and Duo launch release. BytePe’s 12 September dates above refer to our own advance bookings.

A booking date tells you when the process opens. An Apple availability date tells you when Apple has scheduled the product’s release. Your BytePe delivery depends on the specific order and confirmed stock. Treat them as three different pieces of information, especially if you are replacing a phone before travel, a work deadline or a gift occasion.

Keep an eye on the BytePe catalogue from 12 September. Model-specific prices, payment options and delivery information should be checked when your booking is confirmed. Check the booking terms and delivery estimate before committing.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: the camera story deserves attention

The Pro models remain the straightforward place to start if you want a conventional flagship. Both get a variable-aperture 48MP main camera, A20 Pro and an updated vapor chamber. Apple offers black, silver, glacier and burgundy finishes, with storage from 256GB to 2TB.

The displays are 6.3 inches on Pro and 6.9 inches on Pro Max, with ProMotion up to 120Hz. The camera system includes 48MP ultrawide and telephoto cameras, 4x telephoto and 8x optical-quality zoom. The main camera’s aperture settings run from f/1.48 to f/4.0. Apple also adds controls for shutter speed and white balance, plus texture and grain adjustments through Photographic Styles 3.

The practical appeal of a variable aperture is control over light and depth of field. For a buyer, the useful comparison is a set of photographs you would actually take: friends at dinner, a moving child, products for your business, or a dimly lit venue. Look at those results before deciding whether a camera upgrade is meaningful for you.

Apple lists 4K120 Dolby Vision, ProRes RAW and Apple Log 2 for demanding video work. Pro Max is rated for up to 45 hours of video playback, and Apple says compatible wired charging can reach 50% in around 15 minutes. These are manufacturer specifications under stated conditions, not our everyday battery results.

If your phone is a work camera, think about the whole workflow. How quickly can you shoot, review, edit, back up and deliver? If you mainly take photos for family chats, judge the automatic results first. Having more controls is useful only if they make your work easier or help you capture something you currently miss.

For most undecided buyers, our first shortlist would be Pro and Pro Max. Add Duo when you have a clear reason to want its form factor. That keeps the comparison connected to your actual use rather than the order in which the phones appeared on stage.

Siri AI and iOS 27: a reason to look at your current phone too

Siri AI starts rolling out in beta in English with iOS 27 on 14 September. Supported devices, languages and regions matter; buying a new phone does not remove every feature restriction.

The software changes worth noticing include Safari’s Notify Me for changes to webpages, Call Context that surfaces relevant information from Mail during a call, natural-language Shortcuts and photo tools for reframing, extending and cleaning up images. Apple’s iOS 27 overview explains the features.

That creates an easy step before upgrading: check which improvements your current iPhone supports. Try the available software on the device you already own, then decide what hardware problem remains. You might still want a better camera, a different screen or a replacement for a tired battery. You will be making that choice with a much clearer idea of what you are paying for.

We would also test an assistant on dull, repeatable tasks before trusting the excitement around it. Finding a reservation, setting up a reminder and making a correction without starting again are better tests than one impressive answer. The point is to spend less time managing your phone. That is the standard we would bring to Siri AI.

Apple Watch Series 12: a more useful picture of your day

Series 12 introduces Apple’s Health Sensing System and S11 chip. Apple says heart-rate sampling happens every five seconds and heart-rate variability is measured more frequently. Readiness combines activity, vitals and sleep into a 0 to 10 score. The watch comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes; Apple rates everyday battery life at up to 24 hours and says 15 minutes of charging can add up to 12 hours. Orders open 9 September, with 18 September availability including India.

Our buying question would be whether you want help noticing patterns and acting on them. A recovery score is useful if it helps you plan a more sustainable routine. The useful part is understanding the pattern behind the number. Wellness insights can inform a routine; they do not provide a medical diagnosis.

Apple also announced an updated Health app, including Insights and Longevity features, for later this year. The laboratory-testing partnership described in the event’s health coverage is a US service, not an Indian launch.

Apple Watch Ultra 4: the battery numbers have different meanings

Ultra 4 gets S11 and the new sensing system, in natural or black titanium. Apple rates it for up to 50 hours of normal use, 84 hours in Low Power Mode, and 25 hours of Extended Workout with full GPS and heart-rate tracking. A separate Max Extended Workout mode reaches up to 45 hours for supported outdoor activities. Orders open 9 September; availability begins 18 September, including India.

Those modes are not interchangeable. Compare the mode you would actually use on a long outing, rather than choosing the biggest number in the list. The sensible reason to pay more for an outdoor watch is that its capabilities match the trips, training or charging routine you already have. Try the size and weight on your wrist too; comfort matters on ordinary days as much as long outings.

AirPods 5: ANC reaches both versions

Both AirPods 5 variants include Active Noise Cancellation. Apple claims up to 50% more external-noise removal than AirPods 4 with ANC. The Wireless Charging Case version adds on-stem swipe volume control and longer battery life, with up to five hours of ANC listening on a charge and 22 hours with the case. Live Translation and Siri AI need compatible hardware, software and supported languages. Apple opens orders 9 September, with 18 September retail availability.

The ₹3,000 between the two AirPods 5 variants buys features you should compare directly. Think about how you adjust volume, where you charge and whether the open-ear fit suits you. For earphones, comfort is something you live with every minute. It deserves as much attention as the feature list.

What people noticed on X

The launch conversation had room for both excitement and price shock. Andreas Storm shared a clip praising Duo’s animation, while Marques Brownlee posted an image of the foldable. Indian creator Ershad Kaleebullah reacted to the new Pro prices.

Those are individual reactions, not a verdict on the product. Our take sits somewhere between enjoying the reveal and opening a budget spreadsheet. It is reasonable to do both. What the iPhone 17 series costs on BytePe today
