BytePe turned one on 25 September. A year ago we set out to make the latest phone easy to own in India, with a monthly plan, an assured buyback and a simple way to move to the next model. How it started
BytePe began with one simple idea: you should not have to pay for an entire flagship phone up front just to use it for a year or two. One of our earliest posts, in late September 2025, was about iPhone 17 pre-orders. From day one the promise was the same: pick the phone you want, pay monthly, and decide later whether to upgrade, return it or keep it.
What a BytePe subscription gives you
A BytePe subscription is still the heart of what we do. You pay for your phone monthly on a credit card EMI, and after 12 months the choice is yours:

Return the phone for its assured buyback value.
Keep paying until month 24, and the phone is yours.
Scratches and dents do not cost you the buyback. The phone just needs to switch on, reach the home screen, and be signed out and factory reset.
One year, many more categories
We started with phones. Today BytePe also brings you audio, wearables, accessories, luggage, appliances and footwear, so the headphones, smartwatch and travel bag can come from the same place as the phone. If you would rather own outright, the EMI store lets you spread the cost across monthly payments.
